The route leads through the Žutica forest, known for its oil and natural gas deposits. Although the oil field is still active, many of the oil pumps have been shut down.
This route offers several variants. One leads to the Gospođica grazing area, a place where cattle graze freely during the summer season.
Another variant leads to the canal where you can look for places where the beaver has knocked down trees (for this you need to walk or drive along the embankment).
In case of dry weather and a mountain bike, a great option is along the embankment (dirt road) towards the village of Vezišće, the place where opera prima donna Milka Trnina was born in the 19th century.
The route continues uphill to Križ, one of the three larger settlements in this region. On the way back, you need to cross the railroad over an unprotected crossing (CAUTION!).
Be sure to bring water and refreshments with you, as most of the route is outside the village.
