Parish Church of St. Peter the Apostle is located in the center of the Croatian Defenders Park, and was built way back in 1831.
It is located on the site of the former wooden chapel of St. John, which was located within the walls of the old Fortress included in the defense system of the Military Border.
It was built in the late Baroque style, and its interior is decorated with rich frescoes on the vaults. The walls were painted by the Slovenian painter Petar Rutar at the beginning of the 20th century.
Thanks to its characteristics and value, the church was included in the list of cultural assets of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia in 2004.
